My grandfather acquired a 1906 Talbot in 1909 when he bought a "defunct" real estate agency in Kempsey. He taught himself to drive in the Talbot, started carrying fare-paying passengers and expanded operations over the years until by 1930 he was operating coaches between Brisbane and Sydney.
