At last I've succeeded in finding it and it looks good. All I need to do now is find my way around. It wasn't like this when Tyranosaurus was a lad!

    Guy,
In response to your post on the old forum I added the following comments:

    Hi Guy,

As far as I can determine less than 3% of members are active, which I think means they have posted on the New Forum at some stage, and that less than 10% of TOC members are signed up.

What can be done to improve this situation?

Could all TOC members be automatically signed up and the details directly communicated to the individual members?

I understand that the old forum is no longer supported but what does this mean? Will it no longer exist at some point in time or if it gets broken it won't be fixed?

I understand that no decision has yet been made on whether to transfer the old posts across but could we informed what the problems are it poses?

Would it be possible to modify the old forum so that if a member tries to post on it they are automatically directed to the New Forum so they can put their post there?

I have repeated this post onto the New Forum under "Feedback & Suggestions"

    Best Regards
    Gordon

started a topic New and Old Forum

    New and Old Forum

The TOC website, under "Members Area", lists "Forum ". Clicking on this takes you to the Old Forum. Unless you know the page address for the New Forum there is no way you can get to it. The page address as shown in the TOC magazine 97 "https://www.talbotportal.com/forum/" and this takes you there. Since the page address for the Portal page after you have logged in is "https://talbotportal.com/Menu.aspx" you might expect that page to have a link to the New Forum, page address "https://www.talbotportal.com/forum/new-content/23". So should the members area have buttons for both Old and New Forum and/or should there be a New Forum button on the logged in Portal page?
Perhaps I am missing the point but I assume that we are meant to be using the New Forum in preference to the Old Forum. I can see that having both New and Old Forum in the members area might be confusing but could that be overcome by preventing posting into the Old Forum but having all the data and search function preserved?
