I have bought two projector LED headlamp bulbs to improve the usefulness of my headlights which at the moment scatter light in a somewhat haphazard manner. The projector bulbs produce an excellent focussed beam, but I don't seem to be able to dip them.
On investigation I have found that my current twin filament bulbs have one filament operating in the dipped position, and BOTH filaments in the full position. I was expecting that only one filament would operate at a time, depending whether dipped or full. Is this normal?
I am sure that the new bulbs are designed to operate with only one 'filament' working at a time. Although they appear to work well, I am worried that they could be damaged by having both full and dipped contacts live at the same time.
Any thoughts?
