  • Rear Road Springs

I am about to get a new pair of springs made for my 90. The company will be Owen Springs in Rotherham.

The cost will be around £500 for the pair. Any comments or advice?

    Regards,

    Dick.

I guess I'd ask Foppe who he uses and what he thinks. I'd be interested in how you get on as my 90 rear springs are very flat an maybe I'll have to go down the same route

I'll post on here when they arrive. Est. 4-6 weeks. Lead time due to me not getting a sample spring to them for 3 weeks.

tried spring parts from suppliers and was not impressed.

Ah, now, at last, most of us are singing from the same hymn sheet, or at least using the same forum! Simon Brindle, only an STD member, had a pair reset to the original drawings last year for the rear of his Noel Rees 75 saloon, I will ask who did them for him. James.

          Hi Dick,

Simon Brindle (STD) used Jones Springs on 01215687575 and was very pleased with their service. Perhaps you are already committed? James.

            Hi James.

Finally managed to get back in this site again....keep having to log in!!

I am committed with Owen Springs. Yes I have heard good things re Jones....they will also reset, however mine are past that.

The spring from JC was 4" too long......out of a 95 may be. Also the leaves were thicker. 5/16 as opposed to 1/4".

I shall be running the car until 16th Aug and will then remove the good spring and take it up to Owens. He is looking at a week to ten days....what can possibly go wrong!!

Whilst waiting for the new springs I shall e fitting the correct silencer....what can possibly go wrong there!!!!

            Dick.
