Ive heard recently of two Talbots having their iOS connected the wrong way round with consequent misfiring issues. Well my car intermittently misfired on the Welsh and again on returning from a New Year's Day meeting and then stopping altogether. It restarted after a few minutes thankfully and I got home. Fop told me the negative on the coil should be connected to the contact breaker . Guess what, mine has been connected to the positive since 2014!
New coil and condenser now fitted so hopefully now cured!
