  • Fuel starvation

My car seems to be giving trouble recently! I'm planning to go to Shelsley on Sunday, so I thought I'd start her up. Nothing - no fuel at the carb. I took the lid off the AC pump - seemed to be ok. Removed all the fuel lines - a mixture of copper tube and rubber pipe and blew them through with my airline. Removed the feeder tube from the tank - all ok . I have a Facet pump which I use to prime the pump and tried running with that - too much pressure so put a regulator in line - it leaked! So Fop is sending me a Lucas pump and a new diaphragm for the AC pump. In the meantime I have renewed all the fuel line from the electric pump forward to the AC pump with rubber pipe. I also bought and fitted some dowty washers for the banjos as the rubber on the existing ones was perished - I'm sure it's the ethanol in the petrol. May be at Shelsley in her, otherwise the trusty MX5!

Went in the MX5 to Shelsley as the weather was foul - great day though! Did a 50 mile round trip today running on the new electric pump - perfect!
