  • Curing a brake rattle

I had an annoying rattle that came in at about 2750 rpm that seemed to be coming from the ratchet release rod in the handbrake lever. Applying the handbrake by one notch stopped the noise. Eventually I found that putting a temporary sideways load on the brake rod that goes to the back by a light shock cord to the torque tube stopped the problem. Inspection and realigning the brake rod to the back and adjustment of the position of the support bearing for the rod on the torque tube has provided a permanent fix. Sounds travel!!
