Oil line and oil sender reproduction piece

Hello,
My name is Andrew at Peter Gordon's workshop, where we have a couple of Talbots in various states. Recently an effort was made by Peter, and two other well known fellows, Gareth and Cecil to reproduce the gearbox oil line junction adapter on these engines. This new version has the fitting that allows for an electric oil pressure sender to a gauge, plus the oil pressure warning lamp. These have been completed in brass and are available through this forum or through contacting these fellows directly. It may also be available through the Talbot Spares program?

Only vaguely related to this topic, I took my 95 with it's rebuilt engine and gearbox for a run on Sunday last week ready for the STD do at Beaulieu, all fine. Tuesday morning started it and ABSOLUTELY NO OIL PRESSURE. I dismantled the union at the end of the gallery, the subject of this thread, and no oil there when spun over. The London to Sydney car came to the rescue. Speaking to the sages that day, Chris Brett suggested that the plug in the side of the oil pump might have unscrewed itself and dropped off. I removed the outer plug from the sump and sure enough the plug from the oil pump was lodged between the pump and the sump. I've never experienced this before, yet Chris had heard of this problem, but why should the plug unscrew itself?

James. I had exactly the same in my 75 saloon on a French trip. No to little oil pressure. I didn't discover the problem I think until I got home!
